Where did the spring and summer go? Time is just flying by and we are now almost into winter, 2006. We've had such a wonderful spring and summer. Lots of people came to learn about Rocky Mountain horses and our unique all natural training program - so much so that many of them fell in love and had to take one or two Rockies home with them. Others stayed and attended one of Darla Nassif's clinics and had a lot of fun.

We  made so many new friends and marveled at how far they came just to see us. Two families came from Alaska, another from Catskill NY, and one all the way from Paris, France. As the popularity of the Rocky Mountain gaited horse breed grows, we're looking forward to making many more friends. We can't wait!

There is never a dull moment/ from the time we're dealing with all the new foals to rounding up the mares and foals to be sorted for the individual stallion herds.

We've heard a rumor that concerns a misinterpreted statement made in the dialog of the highly regarded Horse Babies program which aired on RFD TV. The rumor concerned whether we turn out all of our stallions with our mares at the same time. Here's the clarification:

We do not now nor have we ever turned all of our stallions out together with our mares. Each stallion has a very carefully selected group of mares of his very own and they are only turned out with their individual group of mares. Each mare and stallion group has their own pasture far apart from other groups. There is never a chance of not knowing who is bred to whom.
FYI:
Rocky Mountain horses have to be proven by DNA testing so there is never any question about sire. However, we realize that not everyone knows the rules registry for the Rocky Mountain breed so we wanted to make sure everyone fully understands that we are very selective in our breeding practices. Our mission statement reflects our love for this breed.

During mating season MMR stallions have a group of mares to themselves in their own pasture, far away from other stallions.

Our Training Program Expands

River crossing imageOur training program is growing by leaps and bounds and we are delighted to have so many fine trainers who have completed our training program requirements and are now training for MMR exclusively.

We will continue to train using natural techniques to provide horses that have learned to trust, be confident with their rider, and to lend confidence to their rider when needed. We know it's working because so many of our clients write to us and send pictures. They are having a ball and we are so happy to have provided that horse that lets them relax and enjoy their new relationship and passion.

Brood Mares to be Retrained for Trail Riding

Mare and foal with a riderWe've begun bringing in some of our brood mares to retrain as trail horses. These mares have had some beautiful foals and we are keeping some of their daughters to replace them in our brood mare herd. That allows us to offer some of the best mares in all colors for sale after finishing our natural training program. We also offer a free breeding to one of our stallions as a bonus if you choose one of our brood mares. Ask us about it!

Wow! 58 Beautiful Babies!
Will one of them be yours soon?

In 2006 our mares and stallions gave us some of the most beautiful babies we have ever seen and they just seem to keep getting better every year. This year we were blessed with 58 beautiful foals in so many beautiful colors. Amazing!

We do not breed like-to-like to get color so we were very surprised to find so many chocolate WMT babies this year. Our babies are living proof that all natural is the best way to raise these wonderful horses!
